About MANLIBNET
Management Libraries Network (MANLIBNET) was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act 1860, in the year 2000 with the broad objectives of providing a common forum to library professionals and developing understanding and cooperation between libraries and librarians for effective collaboration and resource sharing. MANLIBNET is engaged in promoting, nurturing and enhancing the profession of librarianship in the country through networking, conferences, workshops, seminars, research, consultancy, mentorship and publications
Professional Activities
Annual Conferences
To facilitate experience sharing and a professional network, MANLIBNET organizes annual conferences in collaboration with academic institutions situated in various locations. The leading institutions that have collaborated with MANLIBNET to host the annual conferences on various themes.
Librarian Development Program
MANLIBNET provides a forum for LIS professionals to develop mutual understanding and cooperation, particularly among management and business libraries. The Librarian Development Programmes (LDPs) are one of the significant milestones of MANLIBNET activities towards the professional and educational enhancement of LIS professionals.
Ashok Jambheker Memorial Lecture
The series of Ashok Jambheker Lectures was started in 2007. Leading personalities of the profession on various library and general management themes delivered the lectures.
Awards & Recognition
MANLIBNET Best Librarian Award
MANLIBNET promotes outstanding library practices by identifying the Best Librarian from the information professionals’ community.
MANLIBNET Innovative Librarian Award
In 2020, MANLIBNET Innovative Librarian Award was instituted for young library professionals.
MANLIBNET Best Paper Award
The series of Ashok Jambheker Lectures was started in 2007. Leading personalities of the profession on various library and general management themes delivered the lectures.
MANLIBNET-3B International Travel Grant
To incentivize library professionals to do original research, MANLIBNET-3B International Travel Grant is given to MANLIBNET members for presenting an original and unpublished research paper at an International Library Conference held outside India.
Journal of Library Management
Journal of Library Management (JLM) is published Bi-Annual by the Management Libraries Network (MANLIBNET) in association with Indian Research.com. New Delhi, India and the views expressed in the journal are those of the authors only. All work published is blind reviewed according to standard procedures of refereed journals. The purpose of the JLM is to publish original, creative research in the field of library management. Theoretical, empirical and applied work including case studies of companies or comparative studies is given equal weight in publication consideration. The JLM publishes contributions only in the English language
